The Money Cup Tournament is played approximately 1 month after every session.  It is a team event and is played on a weekend. Those teams that finish high in the standings of their respective divisions qualify for this tournament. See chart below to find out how many teams in your division will qualify.  The prize for this tournament is money. How much money is based on how many teams we have in all divisions. As our team count grows, so does the amount of money.  Currently, every team that qualifies for the Money Cup will receive money.  All teams that qualify for this tournament must remain active for the session the tournament takes place.

This tournament is our way of thanking the team captains for taking on the extra responsibility of being team captains. It is a fun tournament that is played on a saturday late every session. It is a scotch doubles format and the prizes are money. The total purse is $1000.00 and we pay out the top 25% of the field.

Every team is eligible to register 1 two person team for this event. Even if this event is being played in the 8-ball format, all teams (even the 9-ball teams) may enter and win this tournament. And vise versa if the format is 9-ball.

The Best of the Best Tournament is played after every session. This is an individual tournament that is played on a weekend day. No matter how your team does, you can qualify for this tournament if you have a good session.  The qualifying criteria is as follows;

In 9-Ball, the criteria is win percentage.

In 8-Ball, the criteria is win percentage + performance points (sum of the skill levels of the opponents you have beaten) divided by the number of weeks in the session.

We then take the top 2 in each skill level grouping from each division and put them on The List.  This list is those who are eligible to play in the Best of the Best Tournament.

Skill level groupings:

8-Ball - Group 1 - 2's and 3's     Group 2 - 4's and 5's        Group 3 - 6's and 7's

9-Ball - Group 1 - 1's, 2's, & 3's     Group 2 - 4's & 5's       Group 3 - 6's through 9's

Each skill level grouping in each format plays it's own tournament.  The winner in each tournament receives a one of a kind, handmade Dale Perry Pool Cue worth an estimated $600.00 as well as a small plaque.  The runner up in each tournament receives a very unique 16" x 24" plaque that forever reminds them of their achievement.

That is 6 winners every session and 6 runner ups every session.

This is an individual format that has 2 qualifying stages. The first is a Local Qualifier Board which is an 8 person single elimination tornament. The winners of the these local tournaments go to a regional event and play on a board of 16 players. The winners of the Regional Qualifier Boards get the oppurtunity to play in the National Singles Tournament held in Las Vegas in April of each year.

The regional and national events are played in skill level groupings, so there is a winner in each skill level tier. There are 3 tiers in each format.

The winners of each tier in the Nationals receive $15,000 (cash and prizes) in 8-ball, and $10,000 (cash and prizes) in 9-ball.

The tiers are the same as our Best of the Best Tornament tiers.

Once every year in May or June, we hold these tournaments. Every team that has gone to a Money Cup during the league year is eligible to play in this event.  The winners of this event go to Las Vegas to play in the National Team Championships held in August of each year. The league pays for their airfare, hotel, and registration fee.  The number of teams that go to this tournament is based on how many teams we have in our local league.  Currently we get to send three 8-ball teams and two 9-ball teams.
